With the above mesh settings I just created a small world with 20 civs and only one type of dwarves. Set it from ignore to 4x4 (smaller region) or 8x8 (small region).Īpparently no two civs will be placed in one region initially, so if you generate a world with a single valid mountain range you will only get one dwarven civ. In the parameters you posted, the elevation mesh appears to be inactive. History Length: This is 'End Year' in the settings. Small Island is also a great choice if you want better performance and/or a smaller world that is easier to explore in Adventure Mode. It appears that the mesh is ignored if you set very high elevation variance values, so don't do that. World Size: I prefer Medium Island because I like to see the entire world, and 'Medium' is a great size for FPS + lots of things generated in the world. Repeat until you find what you're looking for. I want it to be one big landmass, so no ocean tiles. You can change wordgen so that the only option you have in world generation are the settings you want to work with. I've found that directly editing worldgen found in /prefs is a hell of a lot easier than doing it in game, since you can copy/paste and ctrl-F.
